Neil fitted my pair of 3-spur living room ceiling lights 3 years ago and I needed to change 2 bulbs. I couldn't figure out how to remove the long narrow shades to get access to the bulbs.

Neil asked for a photo which I sent and said that type is likely to be an Allen key and indeed it was, via two hard to see grub screws on top of the shades.
